Anchor brings the arts to Alameda

Alameda International Film Festival

The Alameda International Film Festival gathers shorts, features, and the people who make them from all over the world. Every year audiences in the beautiful island city of Alameda, California gain access to an amazing slate of unique domestic and foreign films.

Back Story, A Film & Speaker Series

Anchor Alameda brings a six-night film and speaker series free to the public to be presented at the Alameda Theatre between August 2022 and February 2023. Back Story is an ongoing cinematic experience that locals will come to look forward to as an opportunity to catch free screenings of important films from cinema history, paired with insight and perspective from relevant speakers, all taking place at a critical cultural landmark, the Alameda Theatre.

Piano Project

Anchor teamed up with an aspiring Eagle Scout to provide a shared musical experience for the community. Attendees at the opening and for the following weeks were able to provide impromptu concerts and sing-a-longs.

Van Gogh Find Yourself

Anchor invited Walter DeForest to The Local on Park St. for a free interactive art experience for the community. Walter is an award winning international traveling artist based in NYC. He has created an interactive live art making/storytelling experience performing around the world the past 10 years. He has performed this experience/show in museums, 250 seat theatres, bars, lounges, dining rooms and while bartending. And now Walter can add the island city of Alameda to that list.
